Bio film for freezing fish
Biodegradable film for packaging and freezing fish was tested on fishing vessels. A vessel loaded with fish travelled all the way from Norway to the US where lab testing was done to check for migrations. The bio film freezes to the fish less than regular plastic film and provides perfect protection for the fish. Norway, US
Bio bags for animal food
120 μm thick biodegradable film (Ok Compost Industrial) was used in an animal food factory. No change of equipment when switching to a new material was required – this packaging could be used on the same equipment as regular plastic bags. England, Scotland
Bio bags for fish farm
Successful testing at fish factories. Plastic bag inserts were replaced with biodegradable blue bags. The pigments by BASF (DE) used in the bags are compostable.
Bags for mushrooms
Compostable bio bags are used for growing mushrooms in greenhouses. The bags are from 100 mm wide and 40 to 70 μm thick.
Bio bags for trees
Biodegradable bags for wrapping tree roots during transportation from the nursery to the planting site. You don’t have to take them off and dispose of them. The trees can be planted with the wraps on. What’s the benefit? You don’t have to dig out the soil to remove and recycle plastic bags. Bio bags will degrade on their own providing additional fertilizer for the tree. The bags are up to 1250 mm wide and up to 70 μm thick. OK Compost Home certification. Used in Czech Republic, Germany
